Ah but neither was having a wolf pelt around his neck (Armor of Brutus) but Ezio does free-run's around Rome wearing it, Also The Revelations armors didn't even make an attempt to be subtle... Just saying.
Hoods don't really go with the 17th-18th centuries anymore, but during the renaissance they were still pretty ok. During the French revolution it was all hats and wigs, so I'm guessing a tricorne would be a something he'd wear.
How about Arnaud? Altair means 'bird' or 'flying', Ezio means 'Eagle', and a quick Google suggests Arnaud as a French name (actually the French version of a German name) meaning something like 'Eagle Power'? Of course Desmond means 'man from South Munster' so the theory falls apart somewhat...
Also, the art is superb and nicely reminiscent of the previous games outfits, and an AC game set during the French Revolution would be very interesting.
