This was an experiment of sorts. And I think it turned out not to be completely horrible.

I used one reference photo for her face, but when I realized I didn't like her hairstyle in that photo, I just painted her a new one without reference. It was time-consuming, yes, but what was even more difficult was to make the mood this dark and gloomy, because the reference photo I chose didn't quite fit the image I had in mind. But on the other hand, it was good practice.
Am I a fan? No, I'm not. Ayumi Hamasaki has a couple of nice songs but the reason why I painted her is... well, I don't have a reason for that. I just felt like it.

And to prevent any misunderstandings: this is not painted on a photo or copied. Photoshop CS, ~4h.

This is GORGEOUS! I think you really captured Ayumi Hamasaki and the mood and everything about it is lovely.
