A commissioned painting for my aunt. I'm not really familiar with trees, so this was kind of an experiment with lighting, contrasts and colours to make it look the way it should. I don't know what tree it is either because I didn't use any reference, but as long as it looks big, old and crooked, it's fine for me.

Photoshop CS and I don't know how many hours, but many. The original size is 2820x4000 in pixels. Yep, it's hueg.

possibyl my favorite digitally-painted tree ever. a giant artery, like all great trees. colors are so dark and moody.
