This is such a fun image, the concept is really neat. Not to mention the image looks great for traditional mediums. Digital seems to be almost all you see any more. Especially around here.
I like traditional working very much, for the same reasons as I like drawing digitally - you can do things with it that couldn't be possible in any other way. Unfortunately, most of my traditional drawing don't end up in the Internet in the end. Because of my own dislike against it or because my scanner is broken again. Or I'm just too lazy.
That seems to be how it goes. I used to do only traditional work about 6 years ago, some of my best and favorite work were in traditional mediums but I usually did Oil and Acrylic paintings on very large scale so getting them on the internet always posed a problem. My all time favorite piece can't even make it on here, it was so funny and awesome. I was bored and I was going through my pop art history books, checking out Warhol's stuff (I'm a big fan) and I love his concept of doing the loss of identity through pop culture icons. Sooo, I thought to myself, if Andy was a young idealistic man right now, who would he use. Of course this was during the pre-SNL Ashlee Simpson boom, so I picked her and did a stripped down minimalistic painting of her in almost all earth toned browns and tans with the exception of the blue in her eyes and the bright pink on one part where her jacket would be (it was in minimalistic style so I didn't go into detail on much but her face and hair so you could see who it was then blended it down into the background for the rest of the image) and it was so much fun. Huge piece though. Makes me sad I can't find a way to get it on the net without losing any of the painting's detail.
